In Colombia, 2 out of 3 children under the age of ten cannot read, and this holds back their learning. First, children learn to read, and then they can read to learn.
Quiero entender seeks to ensure that all boys and girls learn to read at the right time, so they can understand the world around them.

More than 20 organizations have joined the first national network for early literacy in Colombia. Together, we defend every child’s right to learn to read and write from the very start of their education. This cause not only impacts their learning but also opens doors to a future with greater opportunities.
